About 3000 community members of Nyakahanga hamlet are benefiting from access to water; schoolers and children are enjoying fetching water from tanks provided by Rusumo Project and installed in their neighborhood; now, children no longer carry jerricans and small buckets to carry bring water to school everyday like before. People of the village, especially women, are very happy about this change. Men come to fetch about more than four bakets of water on their motorvehicles.
Contractors are playing a big role to faciltate that good action, such as in prepare basements on which tanks are to be installed or repairing any related breakdown. The Project pays service provider to fill the tanks with water on a regular basis. Cordination of water distribution is organized by village leadership in Rusumo Village, Tanzania to ensure women and chrildren are well served. The Project is preparing to bring the same water facility to Rusumo Village community members of Rwanda.
