Triggering positive impact among Rusumo community
RPCL through Rusumo Project is generating positive impacts on Rusumo communities. About 3000 community members of Nyakahanga hamlet are accessing potable water; schoolers and children are enjoying fetching water from nearby water tanks in their vicinity provided by Rusumo Project.
Rusumo children no longer carry jerrycans and small buckets to bring water for use to school every day like before. Schools administration, villagers, especially women and vulnerable persons are very happy about this change brought by the Project/RPCL. Men come to fetch about more than four buckets of water on their motor vehicles.
Contractors are playing a big role to facilitate such good actions like preparing basements on which tanks are installed or repairing any related breakdown. The Project pays service provider to fill the tanks with water on a regular basis. Coordination of water distribution is organized by village leadership in Rusumo Village, Tanzania to ensure women and children are well served. The Project and RPCL is bringing the same water facility to Rusumo community members of Rwanda.
