Visit the 80MW Regional Rusumo Falls Hydroelectric Plan by the Central African Power Pool: Strengthening Regional Collaboration.

With the intention of more cooperation and exchange of experience, a team of energy specialists of the Central African Power Pool led by Mr. Atadet Azarak Mogro, Permanent Secretary and Head of Diplomatic Mission recently undertook an in-depth tour of the Rusumo Power Company Limited (RPCL) and its project, the Regional Rusumo Falls Hydroelectric Project (RRFHP).
This knowledge-sharing experience marks a significant milestone in the region's efforts to build its energy capacity and explore innovative solutions.
Strategically located on the border between Rwanda and Tanzania and owned by the Governments of Burundi, Rwanda, and Tanzania via the Special Purpose Vehicle RPCL, the 80 MW Regional Rusumo Falls Hydroelectric Project is of major regional importance. The Central Power Pool team was warmly welcomed by the RPCL Managing Director and the RPCL team, who shared detailed information on the technical, operational, and environmental aspects of this ambitious undertaking.
During the visit, team members had the opportunity to get a close look at the project's facilities, including the hydropower plant under the Operational phase and associated infrastructure. Lively discussions took place, allowing for a fruitful exchange of experiences, expertise, and best practices in the energy field.
