Celebrating Labor Day 2023: A Day of Unity and Appreciation at Rusumo Power Company Ld (RPCL)
Labor Day holds a special place in our hearts as we honor the hard work and dedication of our incredible team. On May 1st, 2023, RPCL organized a memorable celebration to express our gratitude and celebrate the collective achievements of our staff. It was also a day to honor the memory of our colleague who passed away from an illness, Eng. Leonard NTIRWONZA. The event started with a minute of silence in his honor.
Labor Day was also a time for the management of RPCL to share a word. The RPCL Managing Director, Eng. Ntare Karitanyi reminded the staff of RPCL’s vision which is to provide “Energy for Regional Development” and that the Operation and Maintenance of the 80MW Rusumo Power Plant was only the beginning. He also mentioned that next year’s Labor Day, there will be a special recognition of 3 outstanding employees and categorized in 3 namely: Gold, Silver, and Bronze.
No celebration is complete without enjoyable activities and delicious food. The event featured a range of entertainment options for employees to enjoy. From music and dance to a talent show, everyone had the opportunity to unwind, relax, and create lasting memories. The atmosphere was lively and joyous, reflecting the spirit of celebration that defines RPCL’s company culture.
Overall, the event was a resounding success, bringing together our employees for an evening filled with unity, appreciation, and fun. The team that made this Labor Day celebration success was also appreciated.
The Managing Director’s final remarks were to continue working together to complete the project and learn from the experts on the ground at the moment, and that we shall continue to reach new heights and make a positive impact in our industry.
