A professional engineer with more than 30 years’ experience, of which more than twenty years have been in the Energy Sector - Generation, Transmission, Distribution and Supply. Has varied experience in planning, implementation and management of energy sector and rural development projects under bilateral and multilateral funding agencies.
Previous responsibilities have included designing, planning, coordinating and supervising the implementation of projects for construction and rehabilitation, improvement and expansion of electricity supply infrastructure, rural facilities (water, agriculture, school and clinics) in ZESCO Limited, the Zambian Power Utility. Was Project Coordinator on several project components under the Zambia Power Rehabilitation Project (in ZESCO) and feasibility studies of power projects on the Kafue River Basin of Zambia.
Was a member of the select committee of the Government of Zambia, Ministry of Energy involved in Maamba Collieries Limited (300MW)- Acquisition of Strategic Equity Partner; Kalungwishi Hydropower Development (218MW)- selection of preferred developer; Ndola Energy Corporation – selection of developer for the first 50MW Heavy Fuel Oil Power Generation Plant; Kafue Gorge Lower (KGL)– PPP Development of 750MW Hydro Power Station and Zambia Tanzania Kenya Interconnector – Member of the Project Steering Committee.
Served as Project Manager for the Batoka Gorge Hydro Electric Scheme Project (2400MW), a transboundary project being developed by Zambia and Zimbabwe under Zambezi River Authority on the Zambezi River.
Currently is also a Board Member and Project Coordinator for Mulembo Lelya Electric Power Company (developing a 106MW) and Mutinondo Luchenene Power Company (developing 110MW (60MW+50MW)), being developed by Independent Power Producers in Zambia.
